Berkomunikasi dengan “mempermainkan logika kebanyakan orang”
“Angin kencang menghembus membawa butiran-butiran air – terhempas – melayang-layang, membulat-bulat, bersentuh – memecah satu dalam kedinginan – bersama melewati angka 3 berhenti di atas klakson mobil yang dikemudikan manusia bermata ambigu – terjun mendarat pada hitungan ke 200 pas ! – memecah di atas tanah tandus – tanah kering berminyak dan tak bertuan nyonya – mencoba meresap – meresap – dan mengasap menyatu memuai menjadi benih – membenih menguat – menghadang hempasan debu – menantang banjir hitam – menapaki tanah tandus – memampukan rasa dalam berlaju tumbuh – daging tumbuh.”
Itulah kata pembuka yang dituliskan oleh Eko Nugroho, perupa muda alumni Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta, mengawali penerbitan perdana kompilasi seni visual (komik) fotokopiannya yang kemudian dikenal dengan nama Dagingtumbuh, menggambarkan ideologinya yang kebalikan dari orang awam, baik dalam berkarya maupun mempublikasikan karyanya, serta mencerminkan semangat bermainnya dengan menjungkirbalikkan struktur dan relasi makna (perhatikan juga judul beberapa edisi Dagingtumbuh: “Menggergaji Es Jeruk”, “Tendangan Maut Nanas Muda”, “Merobohkan Kelenjar Hari Libur” atau judul karya-karyanya: “Sirkus Dalam Kaleng”, “Cut The Mountain & Let It Fly”). Sekaligus itulah awal perjalanan Eko Nugroho sejak tahun 2000, berangkat dari sebuah rumah kontrakan kecil di pinggiran sungai Code, Yogyakarta, melewati gang-gang kecil berliku hingga menembus tembok kokoh kuratorial gedung-gedung kesenian dan museum-museum di Singapore, Brisbane, Lyon, Helsinki, Amsterdam, New York dan banyak lagi.
Dan menjelang minggu terakhir bulan April ini, DGI berkesempatan menampilkan secara online 9 (sembilan) karya Eko Nugroho (Presiden Dagingtumbuh), sebagian besar merupakan karya seni muralnya. Silakan klik link berikut untuk memberikan apresiasi: “DGI Online Exhibition #2: Eko Nugroho”.
