From 2008 to 2010 Indra Abidin is The World President elect of the prestigious International Advertising Association (IAA), an Asian first!
After graduating from Graphic Design ITB in 1973, Indra Abidin joined PT Fortune Indonesia as a part of account management. In addition to his natural talent as an artist and his skills in public relations and communications, Indra”s “never-say-die” or “I can do it” mindset, have propelled the growth and prominence of Fortune in the advertising industry.
His dedication to PT Fortune Indonesia saw his career experience a meteoric rise and he became Managing Director in 1980. From 1987 onwards, Indra Abidin helmed the agency as its President Director.
Indra”s vision is to develop the future leaders of Fortune in terms of value and culture, people competence and business. He has been competing with big international advertising companies with basically no international affiliation and no expatriate manpower.
Indra initiated a public listing of Fortune in 2001 in order to further promote good corporate governance, and it is the first and only ad agency listed on the Jakarta Stock Exchange. Indra”s success in crisis management has been a great achievement to date.
His long-term business plan is to focus more on the content rather than on the hardware. Products to be developed or strengthened include media planning; developing entertainment marketing together with brand activation; content and program provider for the TV sector; social marketing with the government sector; brand and value building and consulting; and developing PR and people relation strategies.
PT Fortune Indonesia, under the leadership of Indra Abidin achieved many several international milestones including the Family Planning Program (Keluarga Berencana) and other accolades including MURI, London International Awards, New York Festivals Award, Citra Pariwara and more…
Indra Abidin is also active in several regional and international advertising organisations is now South East Asia”s first Senior Vice President of the prestigious International Advertising Association (IAA). IAA represents Advertisers, Media and Agencies with over 4,000 members, 56 chapters, across 76 countries and has been championing responsible marketing communications for more than 80 years.
From 2008 to 2010 Indra will become World President elect of IAA, an Asian first!
He is widely recognised as the prime mover of the Asia”s premier advertising awards show; the Asia Pacific Advertising Festival (AdFest) which is now moving into its 11th year.
Indra Abidin has also been distinguished by winning the Ernst and Young 2005 Entrepreneur Of The Year National Special Award for Corporate Social Responsibility and Inspirational Leadership.
The ADOI Advertising Awards (AAA) 2007 is honored to welcome Pak Indra Abidin into the AAA Hall of Fame for his exemplary contribution to the growth and success of the Indonesian advertising industry at large.
